Title: Thin Hair Post by Marianthi on Sep 7th, 2003 at 10:19pm
I have thin hair and now that it's long it looks very flat. Does anyone know what I can possibly do to make my hair thicker??
Please reply ;) |

You don't mention how you are wearing your hair. When wearing it loose, you might try parting it on the side. Doing so usually gives some lift to the hair on the top of the head.
I also have very fine hair that lays very close to the head. I have found that french braids also gives some height/texture to my hair, both while braided and after removing the braids. Hope this helps a bit. |

You say your hair is very fine, but in the picture it looks great. I didn't think fine hair could ever look good that long.

Hi Marianthi,
I too have very fine hair and deal with that problem as it gets longer. My hair is mid-back length and I keep my hair cut in long layers, with the shortest layer being at slightly below shoulder length. This helps a *great deal* with adding some fullness and body to hair like mine, and also adds a little more interest than having just one length. Another trick I do when my hair is laying too flat involves.......oh no........hairspray! What I do is I'll part my hair way on the side, farther than you would normally, and spray at the roots and mess is up with my fingers a little, then do another part slightly above it and do the same thing, I do this about 3 times on each side of my head and it adds lift at the roots from the underside up. Also, when using hairspray, sometimes I will just slide my fingers into my hair against my scalp (like you were about to run your fingers through your hair), this lifts the hair up, and then spray while your hand is still there. That's a tip I picked up from my hairdresser-works well. That's about all I got, hope you're still checking the posts and I helped some! ;) |
