Hi Everyone,
 I am new to this list and have loved reading all the information and posts. I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with products like hairdini. Or even those snap-wrap-and go things for curling without heat. Supposed to be hair friendly. I have arthritis and am looking for ways to wear my slightly longer than bra length hair that doesn't require a lot of up in the air time for my arms. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

I´m afraid I can´t help you with the Hairdini,but I´ve used those snap-and-wrap things(I guess you mean the HAIRAGAMI?),and I really loved those!There are tons of styles you can create with them(some are also shown on their website).BUT they didn´t work for me anymore beyond mid-back length,my hair started to tangle around them-quite messy! :P But maybe that happened because my hair is rather fine.
Another thing I really liked was the CLIPDINI,basically a barrette whith which you can create great&easy updos(also not beyond mid-back for me)!
Finally there´s the GEISHA GIRL(Flexiwand),basically for creating very neat&easy buns,this still works for me.But I don´t know if you can still buy it in the shops,I got mine from E-Bay,and it looked a bit old.

 Thanks for the info. I actually just found Hairdini, Hairagami and Clipdini on this website www.folican.com. I might try one or two. Sure would be nice to have some easy up dos for the summer.

  The other thing, snapwrapngo, are actually soft curlers(they have like a animal print on them). You are supposed to be able to put them in dry hair for like 20 minutes and get spiral like curls. I have tried cheap-o soft curlers before and have ended up in a lengthy(no pun intended)battle with my hair. So, so tangled. But those I had to use on wet hair.

 I am going to go hunt for the GEISHA GIRL thingy. Do you have a favorite seller of hair items on ebay? I just love ebay! Thanks again.

This might seem a bit obvious, but I have quite a few simple styles for summer. I do a bun with hairsticks or a french twist with one hairstick, a high ponytail, a bun with a scrunchie, and knotted ponytails (it's summer here already!). Anyway, as for curling, I usually just scrunch my hair with mousse when it's a bit wet, but this works for wavy-curly hair only. You didn't mention the texture of your hair, so I'm not sure whether or not this will work for you. You could also try rag/sock curls... they seem to work for a lot of people here.

Rag and sock rollers, what are those? Actually rags?I am challenged in this department. My mother always butched my hair as a child and since she always hated her mother doing curls or braids ??? in her hair, never shared the secrets with me. Grandma was gone before I was born.  I would love it if you would share your wisdom :) Thanks!

Oops!  ::)  My hair texture is thick,  waivy, slightly frizzy and just about down to my waist now. Curls pretty easily.

Rag curlers are strips of fabric, many times of a cotton towel or sheet.  The sock curls use a crew or tube type sock - the more rags or socks, the curlier the hair - check out the other posts for more information on how to do them.  I personally use one or two socks for my waist length hair, one gives a very nice body curl, two will create more of a ringlet.  If you roll the hair when damp, the curls will last a long time.  I usually put my hair up slightly damp and sleep on them, and have wonderful curls in the morning.

I seem to have hair that is textured similar to yours. It is wavy, thick, and slightly frizzy... and this frizz doesn't go away when it's longer either! When you leave it down, what do you do to reduce the frizz?

 I really don't do anything. I was reading on the "au natural" topic and some people are using coconut or jojoba oil to condition their hair. I bet that might help. I used to use that FRIZZ-EASE, but it is made I think of silicon and I really didn't lik the slippery feel it gave my hair.. I also don't wash my hair everyday, that helps. The first day is the frizziest. When I wrap it in a bun while wet/damp in the morning and take it down(not quite dry yet) in the evening it is better too.

I pretty excited, I found a brand new with video hairagami on ebay. With shipping it was just under $10. I can't wait until it arrives. I think one of the photos in the gallery uses one for a really neat look. Yippee! A new toy. ;D
