thank you so much to those who asked about my dad and sent him good wishes. we are trying to hang in there, but it's very very hard.  he has a blood cancer and started chemo. the meds he's on have a 3% chance of hair loss. he has average traditional guy length hair (& a beard) and was very distressed about losing all his hair, so that is good. he's actually feeling as well as one could hope right now. maybe the will let him come home in a few weeks. my mom & I are not doing so great. a sign of rampant depression... went to bed the last 2 days w/o a braid and my hair was a giant tangle in the morning and I was yanking at it. I just do not care.

Even though it is obviously important to all of us here on some level, there are tremendously more important things to worry about in this world than hair.  You do what you need to do to get through this... eventually the less important things in life will matter again.  You certainly don't need to find reasons to feel worse than you already do, give yourself permission to "not care" about your hair and permission to care about the things that really matter.  We're with you, C.

I just heard from cupcake with some very distressing news.  Her father has passed away.  She said he had been fighting and this was very unexpected.  I know we were all pulling for her and her dad, and that you all join with me to wish her our deepest sympathies.

We are so sorry C., you are in our thoughts.

Thank you for the update.  Sorry that it had to be such sad news.  I will keep them in my thoughts.

I really hoped that it would come to an good end...I feel very sorry for Cupcake and her family.

Just know that he has gone to a better place. We are all with you, cupcake.
